at dVerse, we’re exploring the Tilus [tee-loo-hz] today, a form created by Kelvin S.M…. it falls under the category of micro poetry. The form is divided into two parts: the first part is composed of two lines following a 6-3 syllable count; the second part, a one-syllable word to close and/or complete the subject layered in the first part. doors open at 3pm EST…

  1. love the intimacy with nature in that first one…
the marbles on the tongue one made me smile
each of these is fun and have some cool
    personal touches…

    may those dreams
    return.

  2. Claudia, may I have these for ‘the zen space’ please? You have my email. If you’ve lost it, drop me a comment on my blog. 🙂

  3. It;s amazing what one can do with duct tape. These are fun to read. Nice how you respond to forms like this. They seem to have been made for you.

  4. After reading Björn’s tiluses, I wondered where you would go with yours. Interesting how you wrote micro poems that are still truly yours even if the form is quite different than what you usually write. I like the raindrops tilus and the last one, which I first read ‘paint boxes cheeky’!

  5. I enjoyed these Claudia. The form adapts naturally & effortlessly to your poetic style. The duct tape & raindrops tilus are brilliant takes! Thank you, Claudia.

  6. What a fun form! I love the title, living in a house with at least 10 colors of duct tape for the boys’ creation (and quick fixes of just about anything). That was of course my favorite bit of this delightful romp.
This was a lovely way to start my day ~ I feel springy and lighter just from reading it.

  7. They are all lovely–I tend to prefer the one re paintcakes. I love a little set of them!

But all are wonderful–the eyelids, the cherries–k.

  8. Duct taped balloon dreams nailed it for me; Kelvin was cool to create such a fine micro-form, and yes, you tackled the form with breasts heaving, & made it your own in short order. I considered doing hyphenated words to meet the syllable count too, but in the end went Full Monty, no hyphens.

  9. I am smiling. I love spring leaning on you and feeding you cherries and so thought of each of these images as if cherry pits spit by a happy Harlequin–duct taped together (but not with the dreams that the balloon carries … I’m still grinning. Do I have a favorite? Hmm. Either the Chinese words or the sun dial.

  10. I duct-tape dreams to a balloon… Yes, and – to paraphrase George Takei but not in his sense – oh, my! Beautiful!

  11. Claudia, I enjoyed each of them. Each expresses your style so strongly. I smiled about the Chinese words. I think I would feel the same. Smiles. And, oh those raindrops!! We have had too many of them over here.

  12. I too love the playfulness of these, and particularly adore the balloon.

  13. Saw that duck tape line yesterday, just as I was looking for ours – tell you, there’s more to heaven and earth….
made me smile to think that thoughts can float over Europe, along with the clouds.

  14. it takes much skill to maintain your poetic voice while squeezing it into the confines of a form, and that’s exactly what you’ve done here. Oh and I am jealous of this “i duct-tape dreams to a
    balloon” – such an image!
